Lion Pride is a diverse group of likeminded colleagues seeking to build on the core foundations of Delhaize and the LGBTQIA+ community. It is our goal to offer a safe space, sense of belonging and connection within our organization. At Lion Pride we believe in creating and maintaining a workplace where you can be yourself regardless of preferences, gender or gender expression or anything else that makes you yourself.
How we seek to fulfill this mission is by uniting colleagues from every department, proudly showcasing everyone’s talent and diversity and offering events and learning opportunities that help create meaningful experiences and understanding. As a group we are open for all members that wish to show their support for their own or their colleagues’ LGBTQIA+ presence at work. Membership is free and we even facilitate anonymous sign ups!

Lion Pride was created thanks to the engagement of several colleagues together with HR and a visit from Ahold Delhaize Pride to our offices in Kobbegem. Over the course of a year we defined our strategy and goals and today our focus is on offering connection, safety and inspiration to everyone at our organization. We strive to carry out our core values with a strong focus on Fun and Integrity and look forward to hearing more from you about how we can best create positive change.

Hey fellow lion! My name is Maxim, but I go by Max daily. My journey at Delhaize began mid Covid when I was in catering and everything went into lockdown. Since starting at Delhaize I have been exploring the freedom my job offers, going from working in a suit, without piercings or jewelry to having a few piercings, wearing what I want and a one point even dyeing my hair purple! When we started creating Lion Pride, I was thus motivated to have everyone feeling that same freedom at work. I hope we can go on a colorful journey of self-expression and share positive energy day after day!

Hi everyone! My name is Dominique and I work for Delhaize since 2010. Within the company I am busy with all market analysis regarding the Delhaize network of stores. I live in Brussels area and originally, I am from the Verviers-Spa area in Wallonia. In my early years at Delhaize, I have not always felt safe to come out in the work environment (which is common for the queer community) – this new Lion Pride community will show any (new) individuals at Delhaize can feel safe and can be free to express themselves if they want to. Cheers to that!

Hi colleagues! I'm Andoni, I'm 32 Years Old and living in the region of Mons. I'm working at Delhaize as Supply Chain EDI Officer since 2021. Before Delhaize I always worked in the retail-sector. Outside of Delhaize, I started and extra adventure: I'm the owner of a Food Truck based on local Belgium foods. I was also scout and leader (my totem was Maki).
